Galerie du Louvre

Former royal palace in the complex and impressive architecture, it is one of the largest and most famous museums in the world. It brings together outstanding collections from many civilizations, from antiquity to 1830.
Undoubtedly the most famous of the French capital, the Louvre is itself the main pretext of a trip to Paris .
It is the largest museum in Paris by area with 210,000 square meters of which 60,600 are devoted to temporary exhibitions which makes him one of the most important museums in the world.

The building that houses the museum dates from the twelfth century and has long changed its focus from a medieval castle and palace of the kings of France to become the Palais du Louvre in 1793.
